David has been involved in football most of his life, playing his first 11-a-side game at the tender age of 7 for his local Cub Scout team. His introduction to grassroots coaching followed the same path as most: shouting at his own 7 year-old son from the sidelines on a Saturday morning, then all of a sudden finding himself wearing a coach’s jacket and giving up all his free time!

David took the decision to start Young Football Academy in late 2019 to focus on developing young players in an environment where they could build their confidence without the pressure a team environment brings. COVID-19 put all plans on hold for a while, so David eventually launched Lil Ballers in May 2021.

Through the SFA, David holds the UEFA Grassroots Leader Award and is currently working towards his UEFA C coaching licence. He is also an SFA qualified First Aider.
